Ironhold Legions
Ironhold Legions is the game we point people to when they ask for tower defence with real teeth. You defend three converging lanes, but between waves you also manage a barracks, upgrade research, and decide which towers to specialise. The choices matter, and a bad tech path can sink a run twenty minutes in.
The tower roster is generous without being bloated. Every tower has a clear job, and the fun comes from combining them: a slowing frost turret in front of a cluster of high-damage cannons turns a losing lane into a wall. We spent a lot of time just experimenting with layouts.
It's not perfect. The energy system that gates how often you can play the harder campaigns felt stingy at first. But the core loop is strong enough that we kept planning our next attempt during the wait.
What we liked
- Deep tower synergy system
- Meaningful between-wave decisions
- Campaign that respects your intelligence
