About

HelixPin started as a group chat between three friends who kept arguing about which tower defence game had the best late-game balance. At some point we decided to stop shouting at each other and start writing things down. That's how this site came together.

We're a small editorial team based in Europe. Nobody here works for a publisher, and we don't take orders from studios. Every review begins with someone actually installing the game and playing it for hours, sometimes days, before an opinion goes on the page.

Games get picked for review in a pretty simple way: we look at what's climbing the charts, what readers ask us about, and what we personally can't put down. We favour titles with real mechanical depth, but we'll also cover a fun casual pick when it earns the space.

We try to write the way we'd explain a game to a friend over coffee. No marketing gloss, no copied press releases. If something bores us, we say so.

Lukas Vogel — Lukas has been chasing perfect tower placements since the flash-game era and now leads editorial at HelixPin. He still loses more matches than he'll admit.
